I give it to you,
the pain,
the sorrow,
the disappointment.
Too long it has
lived here,
too long.
I now release
the sadness and grief.
I release the anger,
I release the bitterness
and unforgiveness.
Take it,
burn it.
I beg of you
to let us continue,
to embrace
that which is good,
wholesome,
worthy,
glorious.
Release the resentments,
the vile thoughts,
that which hinders,
that which betrays,
that which condemns.
Bring us peace,
Bring us compassion.
In your power
hold us,
comfort,
console,
guide,
resurrect,
transform.
Wonderful sentiment. I wish more strived for them. I was thinking how a lot of people have such darkness in them that only death will bring them peace. How can they accept others when they can’t seem accept themselves and where they are in life’s journey? Be well. Hugs

That’s sad, isn’t it? My personal darkness is always laying in wait for an opportunity to regain control. In my AA tradition, humility is defined as “a clear recognition of who we are, followed by a sincere attempt to become who we could be.”
“To thine own self be true.” The world would indeed be a better place. Thanks, Scottie, hugs back.
